Two dead in chopper crash in northern NB
Two people were killed and a third injured in a helicopter crash yesterday afternoon near Campbellton.
35 year old Roberto Bissonnette, co-owner of the Capitales de Quebec baseball team, and the chopper pilot Frederick Decoste both died in the crash. The team’s president Michel Laplant suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The helicopter hit some powerlines, knocking out the electricity to about 14,000 customers in the Campbellton area for several hours. The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
