Residents want park name changed
Residents of an old Moncton neighbourhood want the name of a local park changed.
The Times and Transcript reports residents of Sunny Brae are asking city council to change the name of Rene-Arthur Frechet Park because nobody knows who he is. Frechet was an architect who designed many buildings in Moncton including Castle Manor, the Capitol Theatre and the Provincial Bank of Canada buildings among others.
One of the residents behind the name change request is Paul Robichaud who says it’s not a French-English thing…it’s just that residents want the name of the park to better reflect the community.
