New Moncton pumping station will be pumping soon

Moncton will be commissioning the new Edinburgh Drive Pumping Station next week so residents may experience dirty or discoloured water. The City will be monitoring the quality extensively during the process.

If there is discolouration when you turn on the tap…open both hot and cold water taps and let them run for half an hour to flush out the pipes. If the discolouration doesn’t clear up, call the City’s dispatch line at 859-2643.

The discolouration of water is caused by a manganese build-up in the piping system, which is not harmful to your health. However, if your water is discoloured or turbid, refrain from washing white clothing as it may cause staining.
