New Brunswick MP Asks Ottawa for Immigration Study

A New Brunswick M-P has asked a Federal committee to st study how to attract and keep immigrants in Atlantic Canada. Alaina Lockhart, the MP for Fundy Royal introduced a motion calling for the study in the House of Commons on Friday. Lockhart says a shrinking and aging population in threatening the region’s future. The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration has been asked to report its findings to the House of Commons within a year.
