Construction Halt May Delay Opening Date of Fundy Trail Parkway
There’s concern work on the Fundy Trail Parkway may delay it’s expected opening in 2018. It’s hoped the parkway, connecting Moncton to St.Stephen, will become a provincial attraction – with waterfalls, coastline vistas, beaches and wildlife. The route is essentially finished but work has halted over a provincial connector road that would connect the parkway to route 114 near the Fundy National Park. Their’s speculation that a new environmental assessment will have to be conducted on the connector road – which would take two years and delay the opening of the parkway until 2020.
