Buy local

Agriculture Minister Rick Doucet wants New Brunswickers to buy local. The Times and Transcript reports Doucet was at a farm market in Bouctouche to launch a new Buy New Brunswick initiative.

He says New Brunswickers spent about $2.6 billion a year on food and if even half that was grown locally imagine what it would do for the economy. Doucet says they need to change the culture and get people to read labels and creaste a demand for local products.
