Morningstar murder trial

The first trial of one of the young people charged with killing Baylie Wylie in a Sumac Street apartment last December has begun in Moncton court.

18 year old Devin Morningstar is on trial for first-degree murder and arson. The jury has been selected from a pool of 600. The judge told the jurors he will give his instructions to them this morning…then the Crown will give its opening statement and call its first witness.

Another accused of murder in this case, Tyler Noel, is due to go to trial next fall. No date has been set for the trial of Marissa Shepard.
