Atlantic Provinces Failing to Protect Wild Salmon
Three Atlantic Canadian provinces are being criticized for not meeting salmon conservation standards. A study by the Atlantic Salmon Federation examined regulations in three Atlantic provinces as well as in British Columbia, Maine and Norway. The study suggests that Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador have a all failed to meet the standards of the Aquaculture Stewardship Council in regards to protecting wild salmon.
