Stranded Dolphins Rescued
A half dozen dolphins stranded in North Eastern New Brunswick have been rescued. The six Atlantic white-sided dolphins were guided out of Lameque harbour (east of Caraquet) and into open water on Friday morning by fishery officials and the Marine Animal Response Society. Rescuers were able to herd the dolphin a sandbar obstructing their passage. Some were able to swim over while some were taken over on stretchers. The pod of seven dolphins became trapped in the harbour over a week ago – six were rescued but one died.
