Province settles suit with Enbridge

The Gallant Government has a memorandum of understanding with Enbridge to settle two outstanding lawsuits, according to the Telegraph-Journal.

Energy Minister Rick Doucet says a legislative move made by the former Alward Government on the franchise agreement resulted in a lawsuit by Enbridge meant to recover $800 million. Doucet isn’t saying yet how much the settlement will cost the government…just that there will not be any legislative changes. He says details will be released in the coming months.
