Dominic Leblanc under fire from Tories

Beausejour MP and Fisheries Minister Dominic Leblanc came under fire from the Conservatives in the Commons yesterday.

The Times and Transcript reports they were complaining about a speech Leblanc is due to deliver next week at a cocktail luncheon put on by a law firm that has connections with J.D. Irving Ltd.  The Tories raised questions about an ethics screen that prohibits Leblanc from dealing with J.D. Irving Ltd. or its subsidiaries.

Leblanc replied that the speech is to promote the recently-announced Atlantic Growth Strategy to a new audience and he has the ethics commissioner’s approval for it.
