BC pipeline approved

Ottawa has given conditional approval to a major pipeline project in British Columbia.

Pacific NorthWest L-N-G  is planning an export terminal near Prince Rupert and a pipeline to natural gas fields so they can ship the gas to Asia.

Three federal cabinet ministers announced the approval but placed 190 conditions on the project.  Environmental groups call the decision inconsistent with Ottawa’s promises to fight climate change.
