Overdue power bills

New Brunswickers owe almost $5 million in overdue power bills…but that’s down from $8.5 million a couple of years ago.

NB Power says it has made a concerted effort to collect on overdue accounts which average about $200 in arrears. Last month, over 23,000 people were more than 60 days late in paying their power bill. The utility points out there are several options to get caught up and disconnection is a last resort.
