Call centre consolidation

The Gallant government is consolidating 74 call centres into four, saying it’ll save $12.9 million over five years.

One of them will be in Moncton, the others are in Fredericton, Edmundston and the Restigouche region. No word how many jobs are involved.

The call centres handle both internal and external calls, from IT support for government employees to calls from the public for things like power outages.
