Provincial funding for medical marijuana operation

A proposed medical marijuana facility in the Campbellton area is getting $4 million from the provincial government.

Opportunities N-B and the Regional Development Corporation have each invested $2 million in the proposed facility in Atholville owned by International Herbs Medical Marijuana, which will operate as Zenabis.

The company is planning to create 208 full-time jobs by the end of 2021 once the facility is licensed and operational. The plant could expand significantly if the Trudeau followes through on the proposal to legalize marijuanna.
