Shediac mega-campground proposal

Things got a little heated at a public meeting in Shediac on the proposal for a major campground.

The Times and Transcript reports developers of the campground had until this summer to start construction or the town would revoke its permits and the land would revert back to Environment Conservation status.

Yesterday’s meeting was to hear from citizens on a request by the developers for an extrension of that condition. Members of the public pointed out you can’t extend something that has lapsed. They also said the original developers were Victor Boudreau and Michel Boudreau….but the extension was requested by the Anglican Parish of Shediac.

Now Town Council has to decide whether to vote in favour of the extension, reject it, or approve it with conditions. That could come next Monday.
