Moncton Airport Named In Honour Of LeBlanc
Moncton’s airport is now officially The Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport.
Federal Minister of Transport Marc Garneau was on hand to announce the new name this morning.
The late Leblanc, who hailed from the Memramcook Valley, was the first Maritimer and Acadian to serve as Canada’s governor general from 1994 to 1999.
Dominic LeBlanc, Beausejour MP, government house leader and fisheries minister, said seeing the airport named after his father was moving.
