Funding for Aberdeen Cultural Centre
Funding for Aberdeen Cultural Centre
The Aberdeen Cultural centre is getting $900,000 from Ottawa and the province for a revitalization project.
The funding will be used to restore the exterior walls and the three main entrances as well as develop a cultural terrace and outdoor performance space.
The building, which is home to about 20 arts and education organizations, was built in 1897, destroyed by fire in 1914 and reconstructed in 1916. It was originally Moncton’s first secondary school, known as Aberdeen High School.
