Gulf of St. Lawrence striped bass fishery retention period extended
The retention period for the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence striped bass fishery has been extended. Fisheries Minister Dominic LeBlanc has announced it’ll go until October 31st, with one kept fish per day allowed. He’s also asked the department to negotiate enhanced Food, Social and Ceremonial access to the fishery for interested Indigenous groups.
