Health ministers meeting on funding

The country’s health ministers meet today and the provincial ministers are expected to rip into the federal minister Jane Philpott over funding.

Ottawa plans to cut in half the amount by which federal health payments will increase next year. The provinces say that will cause a lot of problems in the provision of healthcare.  Philpott says Ottawa isn’t willing to spend more on health care without innovative ideas and measures to ensure accountability.
