Cut down on the sugar for your kids
Kids are not going to like this. The American Heart Association is out with new recommendations on sugar consumption for children.
Doctors say children should be eating less added sugar…a maximum of six teaspoons a day and only one sugary drink a week. They say added sugars are directly linked to risk factors for heart disease, like obesity and diabetes. The group also says kids under two shouldn’t consume any added sugars in their food at all…not ice cream, sugar cereals or sweetened yogurt.
