New development planned off Dieppe Blvd.

A public hearing was held last night on a new development planned for the east side of Dieppe Boulevard near Melanson Road.

Fox Land Developments is asking the city to rezone 70 acres for the housing development which would also include a commercial strip along Dieppe Boulevard. There’d be a mix of houses and apartments behind it next to a new elementary school.

According to the Times and Transcript, there were no objections although Councillor Roger LeBlanc did have some reservations about tall apartment buuildings being mixed in with single family homes.
