Settlement in campground holdup

Another hurdle in building a megacampground in Shediac has been jumped.

There’s a settlement between the Anglican Parish of Shediac which owns the land and an existing campground, Camping Oceanic. It’s over a no compete clause in the lease. They have now settled that but a confidentiality clause prohibits releasing any details.

It clears the way for developers of the new campground, to be known as Camping Shediac, to begin construction. However, opponents who are concerned about traffic and land values are still fighting. They are planning an appeal of the town’s decision to grant an extension on a deadline for the start of construction.
