Atlantic Canadians have more financial worry: annual survey
The eighth annual Research Survey of Employed Canadians has been released by the Canadian Payroll Association. It says only 23% of Atlantic Canadians expect their local economy to improve in the coming year, compared to 36% nationally. 59% of people in this region live paycheque to paycheque, and 33% would find it tough to come up with $2000 for an emergency – the highest in Canada. We’re also higher on average in net pay spending, being overwhelmed by debt and other areas.
