Church to be demolished
They will be tearing down a key feature of the landscape in Petitcodiac for over a hundred years. The white spire of 135 year old Petitcodiac Baptist Church is facing demolition.
There was a massive oil leak at the church earlier this year of 14,000 litres. It would have cost more than $700,000 to clean it all up…and a survey showed there were other structural problems with the building. So a church committee has decided to tear it down and clean up the spill. Work begins this week.
