KRACK A New Cyber Threat!

A cybersecurity expert is warning  a new cyber-threat is making it easy to break into any wifi enabled device unless people keep their devices updated.

KRACK stands for Key Reinstallation Attacks and it gives access to information on your computer, smartphone, tablet, even a smart TV as long as these devices are in range of your wifi network. The good news is most Apple and Window devices have patches that were created for this specific issue but they are useless unless if you don’t updates your devices because they patch will not be installed.

Here are 5 Tips for Keeping Your Devices Safe:

  1. Update your device
  2. Make sure you set a strong password
  3. Use two-factor authorization which requires more than just a username or password to login.
  4. Use antivirus software
  5. Be suspicious of emails. Fraudulent emails are still the most popular threat
