Dieppe Winter Carnival Is This Weekend! Check Out The Schedule Here.

For more than 40 years, residents of Dieppe and the surrounding area have been meeting at the Friendship Carnival to celebrate the joys of winter. Sleigh rides, skating, music shows and an array of other activities are organized for three days.

2019 schedule of events

Friday, February 1

Place 1604

6:30 pm

– Carnival opening ceremony with music by the Campfire Boys. Come skate with the Aigles Bleues (female team) on the refrigerated skating oval!

– Observation rally around Place 1604 Organized by Les Jeunes Chanteurs d’Acadie,
several prizes to be won! Register on site. $80 per team / maximum of six people per team.

7 to 10 p.m

– Make a cushion at the Carte Blanche boutique workshop. Register in advance at www.cbupcycle.com $25 per person. Limit of 10 participants. Open to everyone!

Dieppe Boys and Girls Club

6 to 9 pm

– Come try out the climbing wall for free!

Saturday, February 2

Dieppe Boys and Girls Club

10 a.m. to 3:30 pm

– Mini Science Centre. Discover science with the mobile Science East exhibit
and planetarium. Open to all.

– Clown workshops Learn to be a clown with workshops offered by the Aca-Clown family. Monocylcle (10 years and older) and monocycle. Bring your running shoes!

Rotary St-Anselme Park

12 to 5 pm

– Ice sculpting by Richard Chiasson

– Sugar shack. Tasting and sale of maple products. Organized by Dieppe Scouts.

1 to  6 pm

– Skill games on ice. Come to the outdoor skating rink, where a facilitator will lead hockey games and races on the ice. You will also be able to test your skills against the Aigles Bleus!

1 to 6:30 pm

– Come warm up around the bonfires set up at the site. Music by DJ Duze.

6 pm

– 5K race organized by Fit Works. The first to cross the finish line will set off the first fireworks. For all ages. Register on site for $10 per person. Several prizes to be won! Animation, hot beverages will be served free of charge, and a musical artist will be on site.

– There will be entertainment, hot drinks will be served for free and a songwriter will be on site.

6:30 pm

– Fireworks

7 to 9 pm

– Explore the illuminated trails of the Rotary Park. The Dieppe Scouts will host stations on forest survival techniques along the paths.

Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre

8 pm

– Danny Boudreau and Ronald Bourgeois. These two Acadian singer-songwriters renowned beyond our borders come together to offer an intimate performance where their songs and stories intertwine. $25 regular, $20 student / senior. Tickets: 854.2787, www.centredesartsdieppe.ca or 331 Acadie Ave, Dieppe

Sunday, February 3 

Rotary St-Anselme Park

8 to 11 am

– Community breakfast prepared by the Dieppe Rotary Club at the Rotary Pavilion. $5 per person, free for children aged 5 and under. Eggs, sausage, ham, potatoes and pancakes. Juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be served. First come, first served.

10 am

– Fatbike race presented by Mike’s Bike Shop. Register in advance at www.mikesbikeshop.ca for $20. Must be a member of Velo NB. The race begins at 10:30 a.m. Duration: 45 minutes plus 1 lap.

11 am to 3 pm

– Climb an outdoor wall. For all ages.

– Sugar shack Tasting and sale of maple products. Organized by Dieppe Scouts.

12 to 3:30 pm

– Outdoor Giant LIVE Foosball. For all ages.

1:30 to 3 pm

– Bring your family to create a painting on wood with Rachel Boudreau. $10 per person, supplies provided. Register in advance at clic.dieppe.ca and pay on site. Ages 6 and up, children must be accompanied.
